What connects New York, the Bermuda Triangle, Madrid and Istanbul? They all lie on the same line of latitude or longitude.
The poster puts New York at the center of the world's coordinate grid. It follows the city's meridian, around 74° west, and its parallel, around 40° north, and marks the places a traveler would meet along each line: Montreal and Bogotá on one, Madrid and Baotou on the other.
Meridians and parallels are usually school definitions. Here they become a way to see how places that never think about each other share the same line on the map.
