'Mars Space Tourism' magazine feature wins an Award of Excellence at SND47
'Mars Space Tourism', a travel guide to the Red Planet and Graphonaut Magazine’s first feature, won an Award of Excellence at SND47, in the same category as The New York Times Magazine and The Boston Globe.

Graphonaut Magazine's first feature, Mars Space Tourism, received an Award of Excellence at the SND47 Creative Competition, in the Magazine: Story Page category.
The Society for News Design has run the competition every year since 1979, and it's one of the main international benchmarks for visual journalism. This year it drew nearly 4,200 entries from publishers and designers around the world. Other publications recognized in the same category include The New York Times Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Sunday Times and Science News.
Mars Space Tourism is a 10-page travel guide to the Red Planet at the end of the 22nd century, built on NASA mission data and current exploration plans. I started Graphonaut to find clearer ways to explain complex topics, so seeing its first feature in that company means a lot.
The story was a team effort. Thanks to Goran Koprenica (copy and research), Josip Dujmović (graphic elements and icons), Colin Eldridge (content director) and Jacob Roundy (copy editor). I worked as creative director and designer, handling the layout, illustrations and infographics.
