Abbott's Nutrition Newsroom publishes articles on health and nutrition science for parents, patients and anyone trying to eat better. From 2018 to 2024, through the content agency Skyword, the collaboration produced more than 200 visual projects for those articles: in-line graphics, long-form infographics, animated GIFs and social carousels.
Each graphic had to make a medical or nutritional point clear at a glance, stay accurate, and follow Abbott's brand guidelines, which changed several times over those years. A set of visual styles and templated layouts let editors choose a direction at the briefing stage, so visuals could be produced in parallel with each article.
Over time, the work grew to other Abbott teams and brands, including Talent Acquisition, Similac and Glucerna. The hardest part was continuity: marketing teams changed often, and each change meant aligning with new people and new preferences.
